Abrar Ismail’s ‘Intellectual Input’ recognised at National Forum
Islamabad -- It began as a keynote address at a high-profile governance forum, but for Gilgit-Baltistan’s Finance Minister, Abrar Ismail, it has since become a moment of national recognition.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal has formally lauded Ismail’s contribution to the Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, acknowledging his address as a pivotal moment that sharpened the focus of the national dialogue.
In an official letter issued on March 5, the Planning Commission praised Ismail’s “distinguished contribution,” noting that his speech provided not just a clear framework for understanding governance challenges but also laid out strategic pathways for meaningful reform. The forum, held on February 25–26 at Serena Hotel in Islamabad, brought together a who’s who of the country’s leadership, including the Prime Minister, Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly, and over 100 prominent speakers from sectors ranging from exports and energy to E-Pakistan and environmental governance.
According to the Planning Ministry, the insights shared during the two-day event are expected to directly shape ongoing policy planning and national-level discussions. The federal government has also expressed hope that Ismail will remain engaged in future iterations of the forum and other national initiatives.
